Rebels Announce Roster for 2012 Season

After completing training camp, the Tampa Bay Rebels have announced their roster for the 2012 Florida Basketball Association (FBA) season. The Tampa Bay Rebels will take the court with eleven players in uniform when they kick off their season May 5th at the Palm Beach Titans.

In the backcourt, the Rebels will rely on Jonathan Brown, a former University of Tampa product, and Jerel Young to anchor the point. They will be aided on the wing by 6’5” An’juan Wilderness, who could also see some time at forward. Backing up Wilderness will be Aubrey West and Will McIntyre. West has been with the Rebels since 2011, while McIntyre earned his spot through an open tryout.

The Rebels are expected to have several possible contributors in their frontcourt. At the forward positions 6’5” Shun Watson and 6’7” Tim Ware will be relied on for their experience. Xavier Shannon, who also earned a roster spot after the tryout, and Alberto Damour, a former USF Bull, will add depth as they begin their professional careers.

In the post, Chamberlain high school product and former Saint Leo center, Matt Kendrick, will anchor the Rebels with his seven-foot frame. Alonzo Davis, a 6’8” center, will provide the Rebels with another proven player in the middle.

The Rebels will play their first home game on May 19, 2012, against the Heartland Prowl at Lutz Preparatory School located at 17951 U.S. Highway 41 in Lutz, Florida. All future home games will be played at Freedom High School, which is located at 17410 Commerce Park Boulevard in Tampa, Florida. For complete coverage of the Rebels, please visit
