The Rebels traveled to West Palm Beach Saturday night to face the Titans in the first regular-season game in Florida Basketball Association history. Tampa Bay was able to control both the defensive boards and the tempo of the game, limiting the fast-paced offense of the home team. “We did some things right, but our execution is a work in progress,” Coach Rojas said after the game. “We know they have great shooters that can change the game anytime; tonight we were able to keep the lead." Palm Beach Titans' Coach Leroy Spruill Jr. commented, “Our defensive effort wasn’t what I expected. We will make necessary adjustments and be ready for the next game."
Center Matt Kendrick had his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Rebels. Forward Tim Ware was very active on both ends of the court and finished with 34 points, while wing LaShun Watson 21 points, 4 steals and 6 assists to help Tampa Bay to the victory.
