The Florida Flight defeated the Tampa Bay Rebels 80 – 75 in Orlando this past weekend. The game was close from the tip-off with neither team pulling ahead by more than six points. The Rebels had their lowest shooting percentage from the field and the free throw line in the season. From the field, the team shot only 33% while also turning in their least efficient performance from the free throw line this season, shooting only 53% at the charity stripe.
“We had 13 steals on the defensive end, but tonight we couldn’t make any shots from the field or the free throw line. Every team has a bad game every now and then, tonight was our turn. We’ll go back to the drawing board and be ready for the next one,” Coach Rojas commented after the game.
The 5-2 Rebels will look to snap their recent skid when they host the Heartland Prowl, who stand at 4-1, on Saturday, June 8th at 7pm at Freedom High School in New Tampa. Children 13 and under receive free admission to the game, while those over 13 can purchase tickets for only $10. Tickets can be purchased at the R●Sole store located in the University Square Mall near USF or at the Freedom High School gymnasium prior to tip-off.
