Rebels Train at Boxing Gym

Finishing their first week of training camp, the Tampa Bay Rebels went for a slightly different type of conditioning workout this past weekend. The team took a beginner’s boxing class at the Title Boxing Club in the Carrollwood section of Tampa. After a grueling warm up session, the players learned the basics of footwork, proper punching techniques, and mental toughness. “I always believed in cross-training, especially after going through the first week of training camp,” Head Coach / GM Fernando Rojas said. “Boxing is the ultimate sport in terms of conditioning and reflexes. Cross-training reduces injuries and brings back new mental energy to our regular practices. Carrie De Lisle, Assistant Manager at Title Boxing, was very accommodating in allowing us to train in the gym. She introduced us to TJ, one of the best trainers I have ever seen. He made our guys work extremely hard.”
